About the Role
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team at our Winnipeg bakery. As a Production Supervisor, you will be accountable for coordinating daily production operations, supervising unionized employees, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing in alignment with production goals. This is a junior developmental leadership role designed to prepare future operations leaders.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Rotating Continental
- Hours: 12‑hour shifts
- Weekend Availability: Required
Compensation
- Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)
- Lead and supervise production teams to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals
- Coordinate daily and weekly production activities with the Manufacturing Manager
- Monitor labor, material usage, and production efficiencies with accurate daily reporting
- Support continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, downtime, and variability
- Ensure full compliance with GMPs, food safety, and health and safety protocols
- Participate in R&D trials, sustainability projects, and formula improvement initiatives
- Support employee scheduling, coaching, performance feedback, and employee relations
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of experience leading unionized employees
- Strong problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
- Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Experience in food manufacturing or operating production equipment
- Strong communication and leadership skills in ESL‑diverse work environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience using SAP
- Strong planning, organization, and decision‑making abilities
