As the Finance Reporting & Analysis Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial insights and reports that support decision-making at the senior leadership and partnership level. This role is responsible for preparing consolidated financial reports, budgeting and forecasting, partner-related financial analysis, and driving efficiencies in reporting processes across all Stikeman Elliott offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget/Forecasting/Analysis/Reporting:

  • Prepare and monitor monthly financial results for the consolidated Stikeman Elliott entity including forecasts and budgets.
  • Work with finance teams across the offices to understand and summarize monthly results, variances and financial analysis and draft management reporting packages.
  • Prepare financial presentations for our Executives, Board, and firm-wide Partner meetings.
  • Prepare financial analysis and commentary for the quarterly Partnership Board package.
  • Coordinate the firmwide budget and forecast processes across all offices. Prepare and communicate the budget for firmwide expenses (i.e. benefits).
  • Develop and enhance Power BI reports to deliver insightful on-demand reports for Executives and Senior Management.

Treasury:

  • Monitor daily cash balances and ensure sufficient funds exist in the bank accounts.
  • Manage cash flow and projections along with presentation materials for senior management.
  • Liaise with financial institutions for cash and related investments.

Partnership Support and Accounting:

  • Responsible for firmwide partner accounting (e.g. equity continuity reconciliation).
  • Create and manage partnership compensation deliberation materials and key partner metrics.
  • Liaise with accounting department for month end journal entries and related account reconciliations.

Other Duties:

  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements to the planning, budgeting and reporting processes.
  • Support a variety of firm-wide projects with a focus on optimizing and automating processes.
  • May perform other duties as assigned within the nature and level of the job.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting/budgeting/forecasting/analytical & reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or MBA is required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Power BI.
  • Advanced skills with building and maintaining financial models and charts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent self-management skills, prioritization, and project balancing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex data to stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills within department and firm-wide.
  • Knowledge of Aderant and SQL is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary Range (Toronto Only):

$95,000- $115,000 annually.
