Kingdom Cards is a Winnipeg based ecommerce brand focused on unique and collectible playing cards ). In addition to the online storefront, work includes a variety of web and digital projects with customers and partners. I am seeking a student intern with a primary interest in web development and some experience in digital marketing and SEO. Kingdom Cards is a one-person, founder-run business, and you will be working directly with me on all projects.
This role is ideal for someone seeking hands-on experience working on real WordPress projects across multiple sites.
Role details
18-week internship starting May 4, 2026
Part-time position, approximately 20-26 hours per week | Hourly wage of $18-$20
Hybrid remote, with occasional in-person meetings and events in Winnipeg
Ability to set most of your schedule, with some set meetings.
Must have flexible scheduling, with some availability on evenings or weekends as needed.
What you will work on
WordPress website development and ongoing improvements
Building and refining layouts using Oxygen Builder
Front-end styling with HTML/CSS, and light PHP updates and template adjustments
Working across multiple WordPress-based web projects as needed
Technical and non-technical SEO improvements
Copy updates for websites and landing pages
Occasional support for social media and digital marketing initiatives
Most of your time will be spent on web development and site optimization, with marketing tasks supporting the web work rather than leading it.
What skills are needed:
Hands-on experience with WordPress development (3+ completed projects)
Comfort working with Oxygen Builder
Strong understanding of HTML and CSS with a basic PHP understanding
Interest in SEO and website performance
Ability to switch between different web projects and priorities
Comfort working independently with minimal supervision
Experience in e-commerce or client-facing work is a plus but not required.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must:
Be a full-time or part-time student enrolled in an accredited Canadian college or university
Be studying any discipline at any diploma or degree level
Hold Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or refugee status
Be enrolled in their program for at least the first 30 days of the internship
International students are not eligible
