Job Summary
The Data Migration Specialist is an experienced individual contributor responsible for investigating, remediating, and validating pension-related data across VIP and SuccessFactors in preparation for the initial data load to a new service provider and the establishment of accurate go-forward integration feeds. This role requires 6–8 years of experience and a solid ability to work independently with minimal direction. Previous experience or exposure to benefits or pensions data an asset.
This position plays a significant role in identifying data issues, developing solutions, and initiating actions to resolve discrepancies in collaboration with HRIS, HR Services, Site HR, and Payroll teams. The successful candidate demonstrates strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the initiative to proactively improve data quality, processes, and controls in a sophisticated systems environment.
This role is offered as a project-based contract for a minimum of five (5) months, with potential for extension should project timelines or scope evolve.
Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Investigate, analyze, and remediate known pension-related data discrepancies in VIP to support initial data load readiness
Identify and fix pension data issues within People Central/SuccessFactors to ensure accurate and reliable go-forward integrations
Act as a proactive initiator in identifying data gaps, root causes, and remediation strategies, driving issues through to resolution
Coordinate with HRIS, HR Services, Site HR, and Payroll teams to complete data corrections and establish consistent use of pension-related data fields across HR processes
Identify and build missing pension records required for the future state, including records for former employees with remaining entitlements and pensions in pay
Perform complex data validation, reconciliation, and analysis using large datasets to ensure alignment between systems of record
Support testing cycles (SIT/UAT), including defect identification, resolution tracking, and final data sign-off
Document data standards, remediation procedures, and go-forward controls to support ongoing data governance
Provide regular status updates, escalate risks as needed, and recommend solutions to HRIS and pension stakeholders
Qualifications
6–8 years of dynamic experience in roles with strong data management requirements
Demonstrated systems experience and technical capability, with solid understanding of HRIS and payroll/pension administration platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors/People Central, VIP, or similar systems)
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a demonstrable ability to solve complex data and system-related problems
Ability to work independently, prioritising multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-based environment
Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable taking initiative to identify issues and drive solutions
Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and working with large volumes of data for reconciliation and analysis
Proven understanding of pension-related data elements, employment lifecycle data, and downstream integration impacts
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills
High attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong data quality mindset
