Lead Hand
The Lead Hand supports the Production Supervisor by coordinating daily production activities, guiding team members, and ensuring operational goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. This role plays a key part in fostering a collaborative work environment, supporting training, and driving continuous improvement within the department.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and participate in daily production activities to meet established daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Lead, motivate, and support team members to ensure consistent performance and strong teamwork.
Foster and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate workflow and communicate effectively with multiple internal departments.
Assist the Production Supervisor with planning, delegating, and assigning tasks to team members.
Support cross-training initiatives to build a flexible and skilled team.
Participate in and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S and process optimization.
Maintain and improve product quality through attention to detail, problem-solving, and adherence to standards.
Support training, skill development, and performance assessment of team members.
Utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Teams, and email for reporting and communication.
Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, engineering diagrams, and technical drawings.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous leadership or lead hand experience is an asset.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering, and technical drawings.
Working knowledge of Safety practices, 5S methodology, and ISO 9001 standards.
Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and commitment to team success.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools.
