On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Affinity is seeking a Sr. Corporate Actions Analyst to be responsible for processing complex corporate action events, ensuring timely and accurate information flow, and mitigating operational risk. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global markets, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
• Research, analyze, and validate corporate action information and disseminate critical and relevant information to other areas of the organization, such as Portfolio Managers, Treasury Management, Valuations, Performance, and Data Management.
• Be the technical expert in the daily administration and processing of complex corporate actions such as Mergers, Acquisitions, Spin-offs, Redemptions, Rights Offerings, and Exercises in the North American, EAFE, and Emerging Markets. The end goal is to become the Subject Matter Expert for the organization in the corporate actions area.
• Provide daily operational oversight of Trade Processing activities within the various systems.
• Manage the Corporate Actions tracking within investment and accounting systems, consisting of (i) research and analysis; (ii) transactional processing; (iii) payment reconciliation; (iv) communication liaison between the organization and custodians / Prime Brokers.
• Develop workflows and business processes for new corporate actions and any new functions in the corporate actions area, while ensuring proper controls are in place and effective.
• Maintain robust Corporate Action tracking within systems, which incorporates strong controls in every stage of the corporate action life cycle to mitigate risks of missed deadlines, incorrectly booked trades, and settlement issues.
• Developing, documenting, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key Corporate Action activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all current and new Corporate Action types and processes.
• Keeping up to date on all market and regulatory changes impacting revolving around Corporate Actions.
• Act as a subject-matter expert, sharing best practices and supporting team capability.
• Ensure business continuity during periods of high volume, vacation, and illness by providing adequate training to staff for coverage.
• Review, analyze, and validate class action information before preparing/filing class action claim forms with 3rd party administrators; disseminate important information to the front office and treasury regarding upcoming and completed class action payments.
• Responsible for monitoring and processing receipts of payments from class actions and allocating payments to appropriate impacted funds or relevant strategies

Requirements:
Must Have:
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or Mathematics or another related field supplemented by designations such as CSC or CFA
• 4+ years of related experience in corporate actions processing within a financial institution, investment bank, or asset manager.
• Advanced understanding of financial markets, institutional asset management, investment regulations, complex investment strategies, investment process and best practices relating to internal controls and procedures
• In-depth knowledge of current industry settlement practices plus familiarity with various investment products
• Analytical abilities needed to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively to solution problems and resolve challenges in a timely manner.
• Comfortable multi-tasking, while completing work with a high attention to detail.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity
Nice to Have:
• Functional knowledge of SimCorp Dimension or Aladdin would be considered an asset.
