Our dealership Team Members are at the heart of our success, building long-lasting, trust-based relationships with customers across Canada. Our national network provides opportunities and support to build the career that's right for you. Working here is fast-paced, non-stop, and a little unpredictable—and we love it.
Your area of focus.
We are looking for an experienced Digital Media Strategist to manage and optimize paid advertising across our multi-location dealership network. This is a hands-on role responsible for running campaigns directly across Google Ads, Meta, video, and programmatic channels.
You will own campaign setup, execution, and ongoing performance management, working closely with analysts, designers, web specialists, and dealership stakeholders to ensure our advertising investments drive measurable business outcomes. In addition to day-to-day optimization, you will help shape strategy, provide platform guidance, and identify opportunities to improve performance across accounts.
You will also support the development of junior team members by sharing best practices, coaching on campaign management and optimization, and helping strengthen our internal processes and standards.
What You'll Be Doing
Own the setup, management, and optimization of paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, video, and programmatic platforms
Translate dealership goals into actionable media plans, channel mix, and budget allocations
Work with Media, Web, and Design teams to align targeting, creative, and landing experiences for performance
Analyze campaign performance and implement optimizations to improve lead quality, efficiency, and volume
Plan and execute testing across audiences, bidding strategies, creative approaches, and platform features
Coach junior media team members on campaign execution, troubleshooting, and best practices
Partner with analytics and reporting teams to improve measurement, conversion tracking, and attribution accuracy
Help build and maintain campaign standards, documentation, and training resources for the media team
What We're Looking For
5–8 years of experience in digital advertising, media buying, or performance marketing
Strong working knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads (hands-on platform experience required)
Proven experience managing large advertising budgets with performance-based allocation (CPA, Conversion Rate, ROAS).
Experience developing media strategies in addition to executing campaigns
Comfortable diagnosing underperforming campaigns and identifying root causes
Strong background in A/B testing across audiences, creatives, and messaging.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain performance and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify tracking issues and proactively detect and resolve drops in traffic or conversions
Nice to Have
Experience with a DSP or programmatic platform (DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, or similar)
Experience working in multi-location retail, franchise, or automotive environments
Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager, including pixel installation and basic event setup for Meta and Google Ads.
Google Ads, Meta, and Google Analytics certifications are a strong plus.
The Perks
Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package
Employee Vehicle Purchase & Service Plans
Employee and Family Assistance Programs
Paid holiday and flex time for full time AutoCanada employees
Company-wide appreciation events and contests throughout the calendar year
Professional development and the opportunity to grow your career
And those are just the basics. We strive every day to create a workplace culture that embraces diversity and inclusivity, ensures fairness and equal opportunities, and fosters a sense of belonging for all Team Members.
