We are looking for a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our advanced facility in Detroit, Michigan. This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency and reliability of our warehouse equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of Safety and operational excellence. As a Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various warehouse machinery, including conveyor systems, forklifts, pallet jacks, and automated storage systems. You will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the smooth flow of goods within our Logistics network. A thorough understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems is highly advantageous. This position requires the ability to work in a dynamic warehouse environment, which involves considerable physical activity. You will be expected to use appropriate PPE , including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, and adhere strictly to all safety guidelines. The role also involves significant Lifting and maneuvering of equipment parts. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment (conveyors, forklifts, automated systems, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with machinery.
- Install, test, and commission new equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and perform emergency repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations staff to identify and address equipment needs and improvements.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for maintenance operations.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the Logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; vocational training in mechanics or electronics preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong understanding of workplace Safety procedures.
- Willingness and ability to wear required PPE .
- Physical capability for climbing, bending, kneeling, and Lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
