Our Los Angeles, California facility is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and retrieval of materials within the warehouse. This role requires proficiency with various types of equipment and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. If you have experience operating forklifts and other machinery, and you are dedicated to maintaining smooth logistics operations, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to production or shipping areas.
- Stack and organize materials in designated locations, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working order, reporting any issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of material movement.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Follow established procedures for material handling and logistics.
- Be prepared for significant lifting tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that involve frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Capability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is a plus.
