We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Washington, D.C. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring secure placement.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by correctly staging and documenting material movements.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance checks on forklift equipment.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and order fulfillment tasks as needed.
- Ensure that all work areas are kept clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions promptly to management.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and smooth running of the logistics department.
- Support other warehouse operations as directed.
Requirements:
- Certified Forklift Operator with significant operational experience.
- Ability to perform substantial Lifting, typically up to 50 lbs.
- In-depth knowledge of forklift operation and warehouse Safety regulations.
- Experience with inventory management systems and procedures.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and manual dexterity.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes physically demanding logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of safe material handling practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a reliable work ethic and be punctual for all shifts.
