Our Detroit, Michigan facility is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is fundamental to the accuracy and efficiency of our entire logistics operation. You will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stock loss. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mind, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse inventory management principles. You must be adept at using WMS software and possess a keen eye for detail. A commitment to Safety and the proper use of PPE is non-negotiable. This role may involve some Lifting of items up to 50 lbs, though the primary focus is on data accuracy and process improvement. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and identify items for replenishment or potential obsolescence.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement in logistics.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use required PPE in all operational areas.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety standards.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
