We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, ensuring smooth operations and efficient order fulfillment. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, from receiving and storage to tracking and reporting. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of warehouse procedures will be paramount in minimizing discrepancies and optimizing stock levels. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels, forecast needs, and coordinate with purchasing to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, shrinkage, and other key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to improve material flow and reduce waste.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed, ensuring accurate counts and damage assessment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency with WMS and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of Logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to Safety protocols and procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
