We are seeking a motivated and dependable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the movement, storage, and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our logistics network, ensuring that products are handled with care and accuracy from receipt to shipment. You will work closely with other warehouse associates and supervisors to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold high standards of productivity and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand.
- Moving materials from receiving areas to designated storage locations.
- Picking and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Utilizing scanning equipment to track inventory movement.
- Performing regular inventory counts and assisting with stock rotation.
- Operating various warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving documentation as needed.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including significant Lifting (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, especially those concerning workplace Safety .
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Must be able to wear required PPE , including safety shoes and vests.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties, including sustained standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
