We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that outgoing shipments are accurate, well-documented, and processed efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, verifying order contents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all company safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While this role may involve some moderate Lifting, the primary focus is on organization, accuracy, and process management within our shipping department. We are looking for an individual who is organized, proactive, and possesses excellent communication skills. You will contribute to the smooth operation of our distribution center and ensure timely delivery of products to our customers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring product protection.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use required PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers.
- Basic understanding of warehouse Safety practices.
- Ability to perform some moderate Lifting as required.
- Must be able to wear and properly use assigned PPE.
- Reliable and punctual.
