We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient flow of goods within the facility. You will be expected to perform pre-operation inspections, identify and report any mechanical issues, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adherence to all safety protocols and company policies is paramount. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from production or storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and a keen eye for detail. We value teamwork and a strong work ethic. You will be expected to handle significant Lifting throughout your shift, so a good level of physical fitness is required. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move and stack inventory.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any defects.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
