Job Summary:
Our growing company in Des Moines, Iowa is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate. This position is crucial for managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all logistics operations. You will be responsible for overseeing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Verify all deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Process outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
  • Prepare shipping documents and coordinate with carriers.
  • Enter receiving and shipping data into the inventory management system.
  • Organize and maintain stock in designated warehouse areas.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Handle lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of logistics best practices and safety standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and proper use of PPE.
