Join our busy distribution center in San Antonio, Texas, as a Receiving Clerk. This pivotal role ensures that all incoming goods are accurately accounted for and processed efficiently into our inventory. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, playing a crucial part in our logistics and supply chain management. We are looking for an organized and vigilant individual to join our dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify contents against purchase orders, checking for accuracy and discrepancies.
- Inspect goods for any damage or defects, reporting issues promptly.
- Unload delivery trucks using appropriate equipment safely.
- Tag and document all received items according to company procedures.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage incoming goods for distribution to relevant warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving dock area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Perform lifting of items up to 70 lbs as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving or inventory control is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Familiarity with reading and understanding shipping documents (e.g., BOLs, packing slips).
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and proper PPE usage.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory flow.
