We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. You will perform regular audits, reconcile discrepancies, and implement procedures to minimize stock loss. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse inventory systems and logistics best practices. Your efforts will ensure efficient operations and reliable stock availability.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between system data and physical stock.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to prevent loss and damage.
- Analyze inventory levels and forecast needs to optimize stock on hand.
- Manage returns and damaged goods processes.
- Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to identify and correct inventory issues.
- Operate warehouse equipment as needed, ensuring safe practices.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory movements and adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including proper PPE usage and safe lifting techniques.
- Contribute to process improvements within the inventory management function.
This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to perform tasks involving some physical movement, though not constant heavy lifting. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety, including the use of required PPE and awareness of safe lifting practices, are essential.
