We are hiring a Shipping Clerk for our Des Moines, Iowa location. This role is critical for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining the organization of the shipping department. A strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are essential. You will be a key player in our logistics process, directly impacting customer satisfaction through timely and correct deliveries. Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments, including order verification and preparation.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers.
- Inspect outgoing packages to ensure they are properly sealed and labeled.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments.
- Operate shipping equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and scales.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
