We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our busy warehouse in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and proper handling, which is crucial for our logistics efficiency. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, verifying contents against documentation, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording received inventory. The ideal candidate is organized, possesses strong communication skills, and is dedicated to maintaining an orderly receiving area. A commitment to Safety is essential; all employees must adhere to company policies and utilize the required PPE. This position involves frequent physical activity, including moderate Lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect all incoming items for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately document all received inventory in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving dock.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure the correct use of all required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as directed.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with WMS software and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs) consistently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety best practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
