We are looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers. Your organizational skills are vital to maintaining the integrity of our shipping processes and meeting customer deadlines. Responsibilities:
- Prepare orders for shipment, including picking, packing, and labeling.
- Verify shipping information against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using our shipping software.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for damage or errors before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with loading outbound shipments onto carrier vehicles.
- Support other warehouse and logistics functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Experience with Lifting and moving packages, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to all protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
