Our New York City, New York facility is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory records. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our stock levels, optimizing warehouse efficiency, and preventing discrepancies. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management systems. You will be responsible for tracking, reporting, and resolving all inventory-related issues to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product freshness.
- Analyze inventory data and provide reports on stock levels, movement, and valuation.
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain organized and accessible storage locations for all inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., WMS) and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to enforce them.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
- Must be comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse environment and wearing required PPE.
