Protective Services Representative

As a Border Patrol Agent with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), you will play a critical role in safeguarding our nation's borders while promoting the free flow of lawful commerce and travel. This challenging position requires individuals who possess strong law enforcement skills, are physically fit, and have excellent communication abilities.

LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE

• You qualify for this position if you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level performing duties such as detecting people suspected of violating immigration laws by inspecting documents and possessions for evidence; apprehending violators using firearms effectively while considering sound judgment in their use.


• Apprehend, restrain or work with officers to identify/arrest people breaking state/federal/immigration laws. Preparation & presentation of investigative reports & services related to warrants/subpoenas/gathering court-related evidence on cases. 

The applicants who possessed previous military/law enforcement background may be qualified under GS 11 level:¡
Duties And Responsibilities:



Pursue fugitives using wide-range surveillance technologies;
carry out thorough investigations;
testify as witnesses

Cross functional training focusing on meticulous forensic analysis is required upon your appointment into CBP becoming an accredited agent.
