PROJECT OVERVIEW
We are building a content-first wellbeing platform (internally described as "The Netflix of Wellbeing").
We are currently comparing:
(A) Managed platform
(B) Custom build
(C) Hybrid approach
Your application will help us choose the lowest-risk path.
Core idea: a clean, structured exercise library where content is easy to navigate and immediately usable ("open → do"). This is NOT an e-commerce storefront and NOT a template build.
The platform must work seamlessly:
(A) Mobile (iOS + Android)
(B) Web (desktop/laptop)
(C) Consistent, content-first experience across both
V1 will be free for logged-in users.
Long-term roadmap includes subscription monetization (NOT required in V1).
We are optimizing for:
(A) Clean architecture
(B) Predictable costs
(C) Lowest long-term risk
(D) Pragmatic V1 execution
V1 SCOPE
We need:
(1) iOS and Android apps
(2) Web access (desktop/laptop)
(3) User login / authentication
(4) Video-based wellbeing content
(5) Categories, collections, daily-use flows
(6) Push notifications
(7) Structured video analytics instrumentation (user-level engagement + completion tracking)
This is a Netflix-style content experience — NOT a Shopify app and NOT an e-commerce storefront.
CORE PRINCIPLES (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
(A) Predictable / bounded costs (NO per-user SaaS pricing dependencies for core V1 functionality)
(B) White-label UI from day 1 (no vendor branding)
(C) Full UI localization capability (non-English support required)
(D) Minimal vendor lock-in
(E) Exit/migration plan required (data export + replaceable components)
(F) Code ownership + documentation + structured handover
(G) Architecture must allow future subscription monetization
If your proposed solution violates these constraints, please do not apply.
TECHNICAL DIRECTION (OPEN – MUST BE JUSTIFIED)
We are open to different stacks if trade-offs are clearly explained.
Example architecture (you may challenge this):
(A) App/UI: React Native (Expo) or Flutter (must support mobile + web)
(B) Video hosting + analytics: Wistia (or alternative — justify)
(C) Authentication: Firebase Auth (or equivalent)
(D) Analytics: Firebase Analytics (or equivalent)
(E) Content backend (non-dev friendly): Airtable or equivalent CMS
(F) Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging
(G) Future billing (not in V1): Stripe (web-based)
We are NOT looking for:
(A) Template builders
(B) No-code solutions
(C) "Yes-men" who cannot explain architecture, trade-offs, and risks
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
(A) Implementing the V1 app experience (mobile + web)
(B) Integrating video playback + analytics
(C) Implementing authentication + basic user state
(D) Connecting the app to a CMS suitable for non-dev content management
(E) Implementing structured analytics events
(F) Preparing App Store & Google Play builds (TestFlight / internal testing)
(G) Documentation + handover
WHAT YOU WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
(A) Content creation
(B) Marketing
(C) Business strategy
(D) Monetization logic in V1
NON-NEGOTIABLE DISQUALIFIERS
Your application will be ignored if:
(1) You do not answer "2 + 4 = ?" at the beginning
(2) You provide no production app links
(3) You suggest per-user SaaS pricing for core V1
(4) You cannot explain trade-offs
(5) You cannot provide a migration/exit approach
(6) You refuse documentation and handover
(7) Your response is generic or copy-paste
IDEAL PROFILE
(A) 3+ years mobile app experience
(B) Production apps in App Store and/or Google Play
(C) Able to explain why decisions are made, not just how
(D) Experience with media/content/subscription platforms is a plus
(E) Comfortable discussing architecture-level trade-offs
LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITY
This is not a one-off project. The platform is intended to evolve into a subscription-based product, which means:
(A) Ongoing feature development
(B) Iteration based on real usage data
(C) Continuous improvement
We are open to long-term collaboration with the right technical partner.
