Janome currently has a full time opening for a District Sales Manager in its Northeast Sales Territory. This individual must have the ability to listen, ask great questions and make meaningful and quality presentations. This is a great opportunity to showcase your sales background. Janome has a comprehensive training program that will enable you to make a smooth transition into this great industry. The primary responsibility of this heavy travel position is to achieve a larger market share, create more brand awareness/loyalty and increase profit margins while selling more volume. A District Sales Manager (DSM) must possess knowledge of all Janome/Elna Products and be aware of competitor products. Good customer service abilities needed to take care of any problems that may arise within the assigned district with dealers and consumers. Provide ongoing product training to new and existing dealers. Give feedback from the field on all pertinent information. Create marketing strategies and expand avenues of distribution to ensure reaching sales budgets. Must be aware of company policies and procedures. Must project a positive attitude and image of the company to dealers. In-Person Travel to meet with dealers is required 2 weeks per month. Essential Job Functions
Heavy travel within the district. Be away from home and numerous days, nights, and some weekends. Be able to drive long distances regularly and travel via airlines on occasion. Ability to lift up to 60lbs. Achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas of products distributed by Janome America Develop sales territory Qualifications and Requirements
Must have a valid drivers license with certain insurance requirements Possess good written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills Have intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers and use of email Proven record of sales success Skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills Sales and customer service skills Presentation skills needed to demonstrate product Attention to detail and follow up skills Problem solving skills/ability to overcome objections Negotiating skills/knowledge of how to close a sale Experience
5 + years of progressive career sales growth in sales positions Knowledge of business development Knowledge of a retail trade a plus Previous experience selling to a dealer network is preferred Experience selling tangible consumer products Sewing machine industry experience preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Personal Characteristics

Must contact dealers by phone or in person monthly In-Person Travel to meet with dealers is required 2 weeks per month. Be aware of competitor's products and dealerships, and train existing and new dealers on all Janome Products Work with dealers on in store promotions and special events and shows Make sure Janome and Elna products are properly represented and promoted in dealer's stores
