Job Summary

The Data Analytics & Reporting Specialist plays a critical role in enabling data-driven insights across NAV CANADA. Supporting the Manager, HR Reporting and Analytics, the incumbent will lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise reporting solutions using Power BI, excel and other data modelling techniques.
This role demands a proactive, detail-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to improve data literacy and advance data analytics at NAV Canada.

In this role you will:

  • Work to automate monthly and quarterly reports, ensuring accurate and timely delivery within our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Deliver on reporting requests by effectively analyzing clients' business needs and leveraging existing tools wherever possible
  • Design, build and maintain Power BI Dashboards and data models
  • Support in the preparation of analytics and presentation materials for stakeholders, including Senior Leadership.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the HR data dictionary, data catalogue, and metadata.
  • Provide support for HR initiatives and projects that enable data-driven decision-making and successful project delivery.
  • Identify and troubleshoot data discrepancies and inconsistencies within reporting deliverables.
  • Organize and manage data files and documentation for efficient retrieval and analysis.
  • Partner with various business units to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and quality.

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education in relevant field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics and/or BI
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and other reporting software
  • Practical experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, etc.
  • Strong communication skills to deduce client needs and share insights with diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to perform data cleansing and data validation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, including metadata management, KPI definitions within the HR practices.
  • Ability to summarize insights for Senior Leadership, and the Board, ensuring clarity, brevity, and relevance.
