Position Summary

The Calgary Stampede is looking for outgoing and positive individuals to join our team as Event Security Guards. The Event Security team plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experience by maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests, volunteers and employees attending Stampede events.

Event Security Guard roles are casual, part-time positions and require open availability to work flexible hours throughout the week.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Provide guests, volunteers, and employees with exceptional customer service.
• Maintain crowd control to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
• Respond effectively to emergency and high-pressure situations to protect staff, volunteers, guests, livestock and property.
• Assist guests by providing accurate information about events and Park facilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive and positive, with experience working in a fast-paced environment and successfully managing multiple priorities. The candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

• Must have a valid Alberta Solicitor General Security License.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
• Must be over 18 years of age. 
• Must have exemplary guest service skills.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively relay information via radio and in person, and to accurately document park incidents in a timely manner.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including a variety of shifts, is required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors across various environmental conditions is required.
• Requires reasonable physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to follow directions accurately and comply with Stampede policies and procedures is required.
• Ability to work comfortably and safely around animals, including farm animals, is required.
