We are seeking a General Manager of Canada to own and scale Tersus' recommerce business in the Canadian market. This role is a true operations leader who is accountable for end-to-end operational performance, including facilities, partner execution, logistics, unit economics, and service quality, while supporting commercial growth and customer success. This role will be based in our Canadian warehouse located in the Greater Calgary Area.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a strong operator who can build, optimize, and scale complex, multi-step operations in an evolving environment. As the General Manager and most senior leader in our Canadian warehouse, you will translate commercial demand to suggest improvements to our processes and ensure Tersus delivers industry-leading quality, turnaround times, and margins as volumes grow.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee all operational elements of Tersus' Canadian recommerce business, including facilities, team, partners, logistics, quality assurance, and service delivery
- Own and manage the budget for all operational components of Canadian recommerce operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, quality, and margin improvement
- Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian employment standards, health & safety regulations, and environmental policies
- Serve as the primary operational liaison between Canadian operations and U.S.-based leadership
- Lead and inspire the team: Develop, coach and scale a high-performing go-to-market organization. Unblock challenges, celebrate wins, and set a standard for performance and culture.
Responsible for being the Point of Contact for any facilitated related audits
Business Leadership:
- Own the P&L for Canadian recommerce operations, with accountability for cost, margin, and operational performance
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company growth objectives
- Translate commercial demand into capacity planning, staffing models, and infrastructure decisions
- Establish KPIs and operating rhythms to track throughput, quality, cost, and service levels
- Partner cross-functionally with our Growth, Partnerships, and Finance teams to support scalable growth
Sales & Marketing Collaboration:
- Partner with our Growth and Partnerships teams to ensure operational readiness for new customers, programs, and launches
- Manage strategic partnerships
- Provide operational input into pricing, program design, and customer onboarding
- Support Sales and Marketing teams by ensuring operational readiness, customer success, and scalable delivery that enables pipeline conversion
- Attend major industry events
Qualifications
Required:
- 5–12+ years of experience in operations or logistics leadership, general management, or an operations-focused leadership role
- 3+ years in leadership role with P&L or business unit ownership
- Proven experience scaling complex operations (e.g., recommerce, logistics, reverse logistics, manufacturing, refurbishment, fulfillment, or multi-step service environments)
- Experience building and leading teams in growth-stage or evolving organizations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to define, track, and improve operational KPIs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Knowledge of Canadian regulatory, health & safety, and environmental compliance requirements
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Good to Have:
- Experience in recommerce, circular economy, or sustainability-focused businesses
- Multi-site or international operations experience
- Experience launching or scaling operations in Canada
- Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working closely with product or technology teams
- Bilingual French and English
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation and benefits are TBD and will be competitive and aligned with the Canadian market. Details will be shared during the interview process.
- Base : 140,000-160,000 CAD depending on experience
Location & Travel
This is a full-time, Canada-based position. Location at our warehouse within the greater Calgary Area .
Travel Requirements are up to once a month.
