Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting, working hand in hand with the General Accountant dealing with day-to-day accounting tasks. This person handles end‑to‑end accounts payable operations, including vendor management, reconciliations, invoice processing, and employee reimbursements.
About The Role:
- Receive and manage documentation (quotes/orders/contracts) for accounts payable, purchasing.
- Perform daily AP transactions: verify, classify, and obtain departmental approvals.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly statements; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Handle vendor correspondence and respond to queries
- Process employee reimbursements by reviewing expense reports and receipts.
- Post all AP invoices, utilities bills and employees' reimbursement in SAP.
- Monitor all AP accounts to ensure payments are current and up to date.
- Prepare payment documents for wires, cheques, and e‑transfers.
- Coordinate cheque mailing and organize stubs after review.
- Support external audit processes with required documentation.
- Any other duties as needed.
Let's Talk About You:
- Minimum 2-3 years of Finance and Accounting experience
- Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping or equivalent is preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Knowledge of financial principles and accounting terminology
- Methodical working style
- Ability to multitask & prioritize while working independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines
