Role Purpose:

The Director, Freight Forwarding will lead the commercial division and go-to-market strategies for growth at DP World Canada, partnering with senior leadership to execute strategy, scale operations, and deliver consistent, profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for commercial strategy and team execution to achieve growth targets. 
  • Drive execution of divisional goals and KPIs aligned with the broader Freight Forwarding strategy.
  • Develop achievable budgets in cooperation with the Product Team engagement.
  • Executive lead for Trade Lane development and strategic account penetration.
  • Responsible for weekly Freight Forwarding reporting and country level reporting.
  • Monitor team performance and work proactively with the senior leadership team to collaborate towards unified goals.
  • Work with head office to promote Canada commercially and provide support as an executive sponsor on high impact accounts.
  • Review contracts and execute complex implementations to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Manage the national pipeline and work with Sales coordination on accuracy and evaluating weekly data analytics 

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience within the freight forwarding industry, with strong exposure to air, ocean, and inland transportation.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale teams, drive growth, and deliver results in a complex, fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with hands-on experience managing budgets, margins, and P&L.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian import/export regulations and operational compliance (e.g., PARS/PARS-related processes).
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet competing deadlines.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence clients, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Fluent in English.
