Job Overview
We are looking for a Procurement Manager is responsible for leading purchasing and procurement activities across TFG's branch network. This role ensures consistent product availability, effective supplier execution, and disciplined inventory management while supporting service, margin, and working capital objectives.
The Procurement Manager works closely with Branch Operations, Sales, Pricing, Logistics, and Finance to align purchasing decisions with business and customer needs. This position reports directly to the Director of Procurement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee procurement activities across TFG's Western Canadian branch network.
- Execute procurement strategies that support product availability, inventory optimization, and cost control.
- Manage supplier relationships including negotiation, service levels, performance monitoring, and program execution.
- Support supplier programs, promotions, and flyer activity in coordination with Procurement.
- Collaborate with Branch Managers, Operations, and Sales to align purchasing with demand and local market requirements.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage procurement activity in a real‑time, multi‑site distribution environment.
- Analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Drive consistency and standardization in procurement processes across branches.
- Lead, coach, and support the Procurement team, providing clear direction and accountability.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, supplier agreements, and ethical procurement standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles, preferably within industrial distribution or wholesale environments.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Professional designations such as SCMP, CPSM, or CPP are strongly preferred.
- Experience working within an ERP system supporting purchasing and inventory management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
