Pinchin is seeking a Civil 3D Designer to join our Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation team in Sudbury, ON. The role reports to the Operations Manager.

Department Overview:

Our team delivers practical, high‑quality design solutions for infrastructure and land development projects. Designers, engineers, and project managers work together to produce accurate plans, support field work, and ensure projects move smoothly from concept to construction. It's a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where technical expertise and attention to detail directly shape successful project outcomes.

Your Role and Action:

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare site plans, grading and drainage plans, utility layouts, profiles, and cross-sections for civil engineering projects.
  • Produce Tender Specs and Issue-for-Construction drawings.
  • Generate and review landfill volume take-off calculations, closure plans, permitting applications.
  • Maintain and organize Civil 3D design files, ensuring version control and compliance with company standards.
  • Perform basic calculations for earthworks, stormwater management, and utility design.
  • Prepare technical reports, as required.
  • Conduct site visits and field data collection to support design development and ensure accuracy.
  • Complete construction administration tasks including site visits to confirm construction with issued specifications and drawings, issuance of field directives and change orders, as well as payment certificates.

What You'll Bring to Pinchin

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D (typically 2–5 years, depending on level).
  • Previous experience in civil infrastructure design (grading, drainage, utilities, roads, land development, etc.) is an asset.
  • Understanding of construction drawings, design standards, and permitting processes.
  • Strong file management and version control practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Valid Driver's License, insurance and personal vehicle
