Job Overview:
The Sanitation Area Lead leads the daily plant sanitation functions and sanitation employees. This function supports quality and sanitation improvement processes within the plants. This position is responsible for the effective use of cleaning and chemicals management applications, maintaining sanitation equipment and implementing plant sanitation procedures in compliance with company quality policies and procedures.
Shifts Available:
Day Shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location:
Woodbridge, ON
Key Responsibilities:
Train all Sanitation Technicians on the Sanitation's procedure manual, cleaning processes, and/or any other required Sanitation Department trainings.
Plan, organize, execute and monitor plant sanitation crew, processes and methods;
Promote all plant safety, GMP, and food safety policies and procedures while proactively supporting Company needs and requirements.
Provide employees with continual input on work performance and act as a guide for improvement
Provide input on performance to Area Manager
Proactively respond to and resolve workplace conflicts respectfully and appropriately
Plan and execute daily, weekly and periodic plant wide cleaning and sanitation actively to ensure compliance with all regulatory procedures for sanitation, housekeeping and readiness for the next day's production.
Coordinate, plan and document sanitation activities and schedule workforce
Periodic and end of shift walk-around to verify the completion of work and when necessary, due to vacations or other absences of sanitation staff, pitch in and perform work assignments to ensure completion of tasks.
Monitor equipment condition through scheduled food safety preventive maintenance and inspections.
Complete all paperwork and forms and hand in to the Sanitation Supervisor
Perform all responsibilities following established GMP, Food Safety, and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Keep accurate records of cleaning performed.
Must attend all training required for the performance of your duties as scheduled.
Document and record all workplace incidents immediately in the form of incident reports
Follow and guide other on company's health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes
Create a continuous improvement environment by improving products, service, and processes with the objective to reduce waste within the area while striving for efficiency and profitability.
Job duties are not limited to the above and other duties may be assigned
Proactively engage in problem solving as issues arise and lead others to do the same
Recipe for Success:
Completion of high school education or equivalent
Minimum 2-3 years of sanitation experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Thorough knowledge of food processing and manufacturing
Familiar with GMP's, SSOP's, HACCP and AIB
Basic leadership/front line supervisory skill is preferred or is beneficial
Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position
