Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations and Maintenance, maintains assigned York Region facilities and offices in a clean, safe and attractive condition to provide a safe and pleasant environment for staff and visitors.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance under a computerized preventative maintenance program as assigned.
- Performs and administers the recycling program in assigned buildings.
- Moves furniture and equipment, hangs pictures, white boards, cork boards, etc. as assigned.
- Performs testing and maintenance in compliance with regulations in the Ontario Fire Code, Building Code, and Canadian Electrical Code (e.g. signs off fire extinguishers , tests exit and emergency lights).
- Maintains work area in a clean, hazard-free manner, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the policies and procedures for the Region's Facilities Management.
- Performs regular inspections and routine maintenance as assigned.
- Responds to internal and external enquires or concerns as required.
- Receives and responds to tenant complaints; informs the Supervisor of potential problems regarding the facility.
- Performs other duties in accordance with Branch or Departmental objectives as required.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one year maintenance experience in a commercial office facility.
- Valid Ontario Class "G" driver's licence and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
- Ability to demonstrate the Region's core competencies.
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
