Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Medical Laboratory Technologist position in the Laboratory Services Department.

The primary location for this position is: Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital

The duration of this temporary contract would be approximately until November 2027, or sooner, as determined by the hospital.

Position Summary:

To ensure the streamlined operation of information technology processes for the OneChart electronic patient care applications within the clinical areas, such as nursing, other health disciplines and physicians by providing end user support. The Clinical Informatics Specialist works in partnership with programs in providing leadership, direction, staff training and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of software and technology to assure efficient delivery of consistently high-quality care. The role provides leadership in assessing current processes and oversees the ongoing development, evaluation and modification of technologies and data for reporting and decision making.

Qualifications:

  • Regulated health care professional registered in good standing with the applicable college in Ontario.
  • 3 years experience with OneChart Electronic Patient Care application preferred.
  • Experience with relationship management and working with clinicians to integrate technology into practice.
  • Project management qualification (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a Project Manager an asset.
  • Solid understanding of federal and provincial healthcare policies and standards (for example patient privacy) and implications on the digital and virtual care initiatives.
  • Sound organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Proven skills in software and hardware support.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships within a team to contribute to a positive work life.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff, technical support teams, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and implement policies and procedures related to the management and optimization of healthcare-related software applications and health informatics.

Other pertinent conditions:

  • Salary per the Non-Union Salary Schedule ($47.09 per hour to $55.09 per hour)
