The Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions Team is on the lookout for a Senior Engineer who will play a key role in managing, designing, deploying, and governing Storage and Backup services in our hybrid environment. This unique opportunity is ideal for collaborative individuals eager to enhance our core services across multi-cloud and on-premises platforms. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days a week in the office at one of the following locations: Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT, or Charlotte, NC (Tuesday through Thursday). Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain robust Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions for The Hartford's hybrid system. Contribute to the development and deployment of disaster recovery and operational recovery capabilities to support application teams and enterprise initiatives. Facilitate the migration of Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions to various cloud offerings as part of a comprehensive data center transformation strategy. Engineer functionalities across platforms, including NetApp, AWS FSx, and AWS Backup. Assist in creating and maintaining IT services related to backup and recovery. Collaborate with IT architects to ensure that changes in IT services account for data conversion impacts and adhere to performance standards. Engage in all aspects of service management—architecture, design, migration, deployment, operational support, audits, and financial stewardship. Work with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of storage and backup systems while responding to new requirements and design challenges. Deliver operational support to end-users, ensuring stability and excellence in operations. Qualifications: Extensive experience in designing and supporting large-scale Storage (NAS) solutions, particularly with NetApp/FSx file systems. Deep understanding of storage protocols, including NFS and CIFS. Experience with cloud storage solutions like AWS FSx is highly desirable. Basic knowledge of Unix server administration, networking concepts, and scripting is required. Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines. Proficient in using tools such as GitHub, Ansible, and Terraform. Experience in creating technical documentation and infrastructure diagrams. Understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and cyber recovery processes is preferred. Highly self-motivated, results-driven, with the capability to work collaboratively and independently. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, able to navigate changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strategic thinker who can provide actionable options and assess holistic business solutions. A solid grasp of current and upcoming IT products, services, and methodologies. Knowledge of IAM concepts and experience using Splunk for troubleshooting and alerting is a bonus. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship, and the company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this role. Compensation: The annualized base pay range for this role is $116,800 - $175,200, reflecting market analysis of similar positions. Actual pay may vary based on performance and competencies.
