About The Role & Team: The Senior Software Engineering Leader will be instrumental in transforming Disney Cruise Line Crew HR systems through integration with Disney's Enterprise Human Resource Platforms. You will work closely with the Human Resources and Technology partners during the transition to a global Human Resource Management System and a state-of-the-art SAP financial platform. Experience with HR functions, particularly SAP, SuccessFactors, or Workday, will support your success in this role. This leader will promote custom software projects that interface with the new HR system and will oversee L2 and L3 support improvements while actively engaging in key HR initiatives. What You'll Do: Lead the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and enhancement of software for local and cloud-based applications. Drive projects that support commercial and user-focused functionalities or enhance technology infrastructure. Facilitate decision-making by engaging necessary resources and driving completion. Collaborate with tech leads to establish best practices and integration requirements. Work with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Project Managers to ensure alignment of benefits with strategic business goals. Provide insights on emerging trends to enhance project and internal IT delivery. Proactively address technical blockers that may jeopardize project timelines. Develop best practices and processes to enhance organizational capabilities. Mentor team members on software development standards and best practices. Lead the strategic technology roadmap development. Work with complex software systems, ensuring high-level coding proficiency. Conceive, design, and implement software solutions, including testing and debugging. Engage with users to define system requirements and necessary modifications. Define clear technical stories from business requirements and ensure they are ready for the development phase. Collaborate with Architecture and Software Engineers to design optimal solutions and documentation. Drive estimation and planning for complex projects, optimizing time, quality, and costs. Lead onshore and offshore technology teams, promoting Disney Reference Architecture best practices. Set coding standards and practices for projects and ensure adherence. Identify and manage technical debt, adding relevant stories to the backlog. Coordinate management and Solution Engineering to ensure project deliverables meet expectations. Review and approve solution designs. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of relevant work experience. Comfortable in an agile work environment. A visionary who inspires team excellence and creativity. Advocate for diversity and inclusivity in fostering innovation. Familiarity with Java, SpringBoot, Angular, TypeScript, NodeJS, and database technologies such as MariaDB or MySQL. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Java, Angular, and MariaDB. Proficient in GitLab, AWS tools, and API Gateway. Familiarity with Agile project lifecycle. Experienced in creating UML diagrams for technical documentation. Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively with various teams. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles. Experience with Jira to manage requirements and user stories. Expertise in relational databases and query optimization. Bonus: Experience with SuccessFactors.
