Status: Internship
Typical Working Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm
May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type of service ESCO provides its clients.
Synopsis:
The Data Analyst Associate/Intern is a student-level or early-career position within the Enterprise Applications department at ESCO Group. This role supports the organization by assisting with data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives across multiple systems. Work is performed under the guidance of senior team members. This position provides hands-on experience with real-world data, reporting platforms, and business intelligence tools while contributing to operational and strategic decision-making.
Background and Work Experience:
To be considered, candidates should have:
Enrollment in or recent completion of an associate or bachelor's degree program in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Basic understanding of data concepts such as tables, relationships, and data quality. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications. Preferred:
Coursework or experience with SQL, relational databases, or data modeling. Exposure to reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or similar. Familiarity with ETL processes, dataflows, or data integration concepts. Previous internship, co-op, or project-based experience involving data analysis or reporting. Responsibilities and Duties:
The Data Analyst Associate/Intern will be responsible for, but not limited to: Assisting with the development and maintenance of dataflows and data integrations between business systems. Supporting the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards. Validating data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reports and source systems. Performing basic data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Assisting with documentation of data models, reports, dashboards, and data definitions. Collaborating with business users to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Supporting ongoing data governance, standards, and best practices established by ESCO. Learning and utilizing ESCO's analytics tools, platforms, and methodologies. Understanding and following all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and its clients. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Strong desire to learn and grow technical and analytical skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs. Demonstrates attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Communicates clearly and professionally with technical and non-technical team members. Able to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when appropriate. Travel Required:
This position does not generally require overnight travel. Some local travel may be required for meetings, training, or collaboration between office locations.
