Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our Mining & Minerals group in #Vancouver, BC or in #Saskatoon, SK.
The Role

Reporting to the Department Manager, Civil, Structural & Architectural, this position is located in our #Vancouver or #Saskatoon offices. Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market. Salary range for this role is CAD $72,000 - $97,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
Work within a team of engineers, technologists and designers to complete projects and grow your skills in the Civil field
Engineering civil works, including general grading, ponds, drainage, plant roads, haul roads, mill pads, containment facilities, rail spurs, etc.)
Engineering buried and surface utilities (including water conveyance piping, tailings discharge, brine lines, etc.)
Review and/or develop engineering, drawings and documents in line with requirements relating to feasibility, standards, codes and the company's specifications
Co-ordination of drawing packages for issue and preparing issue folders for electronic files
Interpret geotechnical and hydrology reports
Assist with writing and interpreting technical reports (including specifications, scope of works, contract documents), quantity take-offs, and cost estimating
Provide engineering technical support to the field during construction, including responding to RFIs from construction contractor, issuing Site Instructions and performing field reviews

Expected
3 to 5 years of earthworks and surface utilities experience
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering
Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training in a province in Canada
Previous experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D software will be considered an asset
Proficient in MS Excel and Word
Excellent communication, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
Excellent organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skills
Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
