Position Information
Spring Outage
Outage duration April 20th, June 6th, 2026
6/1 rotation, 10-hour shifts
Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
Camp provided
Ensure all rope access activities are performed safely and in compliance with IRATA standards and company policies.
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repair work using rope access methods.
Plan and execute rigging setups, ensuring operational safety and compliance with site and IRATA requirements.
Conduct pre-job hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and rescue plans.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and safety checks.
Perform rescues and emergency response procedures as required.
Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Lead daily rope access operations, ensuring all work is conducted safely and efficiently.
Liaise with site management and clients on work scopes, safety, and progress updates.
Perform equipment inspections, maintain certification records, and ensure site compliance.
Certifications
IRATA Level 3 Certification (valid and in good standing) required
CSTS / OSSA Regional/ ESC CSO/ BSO required
Standard First Aid Certification required
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician in industrial environments
Strong understanding of rope access theory, rigging principles, maneuvers, hauling systems, and advanced rescue techniques
Demonstrated ability to lead, instruct, and supervise Level 1 and Level 2 technician
Applicants must be local to Fort McMurray, AB
Proven leadership and communication skills in a team environment
Strong safety, quality, and client-focus mindset
Self-motivated and capable of working independently in remote, high-risk, and variable conditions
Problem-solving and time-management skills with attention to detail
