We are planning to develop a custom mobile application for iOS and Android that will integrate with Shopify as the commerce backend and provide customers with a seamless mobile shopping experience.
The objective is to build a scalable, well-structured mobile application that connects to Shopify via API and supports product browsing, purchasing, subscription management, and order tracking.
This is not a template-based project. We are looking to build a fully custom mobile application designed for long-term growth and extensibility.
Phase 1 – MVP Scope
The first phase will focus on core commerce functionality and account management.
The application must include:
User registration and authentication integrated with Shopify customer accounts
Product catalog and collection display
Product detail pages with variants and pricing
Cart functionality (add, remove, update quantity)
Checkout via Shopify using standard Shopify checkout (webview for MVP)
Order history and detailed order view
Shipment tracking display (tracking number and link, when available)
Integration with a subscription provider (Skio or Recharge – to be confirmed), including:
Subscription option at product level
Access to subscription management via embedded portal
The architecture must be modular, clean, and scalable to support future expansion.
Future Development
In a later phase, we plan to introduce an in-app AI-powered assistant designed to support customers with product guidance and educational content.
This AI component will be developed as a separate backend service and integrated into the mobile application via API. While it is not part of the current development scope, the application architecture must allow for future backend integrations.
Technical Requirements
React Native or Flutter (single codebase preferred)
Experience with Shopify Storefront API
Experience working with Shopify customer and order data
Subscription platform integration experience (Skio or Recharge preferred)
Secure API architecture
Production-ready iOS and Android builds
Clean, maintainable codebase
Deliverables
Fully functional MVP mobile application (iOS & Android)
Well-structured source code
Environment configuration documentation
Assistance with TestFlight and Android internal testing
Security Expectations
No sensitive API keys exposed in the client application
HTTPS-only communication
Proper token handling and secure authentication flow
Clear separation between client and backend services
