WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Facility & Maintenance Manager leads facility, building, and equipment maintenance operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and fully operational manufacturing and office environment. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, equipment reliability, contractor coordination, procurement, and department budgeting, while collaborating closely with production and leadership teams to prioritize repairs, manage equipment installations and relocations, and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is hands-on and solutions-oriented, with strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the leadership capability to drive accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the facility.
WHAT WE OFFER
We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $75,000 to 89,000 annually, dependent on the experience level of the candidate. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
STRUCTURE
The Facility & Maintenance Manager reports directly to Director, Manufacturing (Canada). They will coordinate with team leads, production managers, and contractors, and oversee the Burnaby maintenance team.
RESPONSIBILITY
• Track, prioritize, and manage all maintenance and building-related tasks for Mustang Survival facility.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to complete prioritized maintenance and building tasks.
• Facilitate the disassembly, relocation, and setup of factory equipment.
• Conduct mobile procurement runs for necessary goods and supplies.
• Maintain and repair all equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Log, track, and perform preventive maintenance on all machinery.
• Lead and support procurement for manufacturing floor, office and facility.
• Define and manage department budget
• Assist with the acquisition and setup of new machinery.
• Coordinate with line leads and production supervisors to assess needs for new and down equipment.
• Meet with, direct, and track contractors as instructed by SVP.
• Maintain pneumatic and switchgear systems.
• Participate in safety council activities, stormwater and outfall control, disaster readiness, and first aid team initiatives as needed.
• Open and close the facility when requested or required.
• Assist in production areas when required and as priorities permit.
• Undertake engineering and fabrication projects as assigned.
• Perform various other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
• Educational requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Experience requirements: A minimum of five years of hands-on or supervisory experience in the maintenance field is required.
Behavioral competencies: Strong leadership and organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, excellent communication skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and a strong commitment to safety.
• Technical competencies:
Knowledge of machinery maintenance and repair, familiarity with pneumatic and switchgear systems.
Proficiency in using maintenance tracking software, and the ability to train and supervise a team.
Proficiency in computer skills, including database management, spreadsheets, email, and word processing software, is essential.
Language requirements: Able to speak Cantonese or Mandarin will be an asset.
An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered.
