***This position is for an Operations Supervisor based in Calgary***
As Operations Supervisor within our REMS team, you'll play a pivotal role in training and supervising all on-site/mobile building operations staff in assigned building(s). Conducts regular team meetings. Inspects completed work and evaluates the performance of operators and maintenance workers. Schedules staff for vacation and sick relief. Inherits duties of Senior Building Operator in the absence of one. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise to help us lead our industry into the future.
Key Responsibilities
Support and guide Building Operators and onsite teams, including training, scheduling, and performance check‑ins
Oversee daily building operations, including inspections of mechanical/electrical equipment and follow-up on required maintenance
Maintain and update preventative maintenance programs and work orders in IMPAK
Assist with repairs and servicing of HVAC, boiler, pump, and closed-loop systems
Participate in fire and life‑safety system testing and ensure compliance with codes and regulations
Coordinate specialized trades, contractors, and third-party service providers
Help manage vendor contracts, quotes, warranties, and cost‑effective procurement
Support operating and capital budget planning and execution
Liaise with tenants, government inspectors, and external partners to ensure smooth operations and strong communication
Assist with base building projects, construction coordination, and post‑construction commissioning
Maintain safety programs, team meetings, OH&S activities, and building walk-throughs
Perform other operational duties as needed to support the facility
What you'll bring
Minimum 7-10 years of related work experience, preferably within commercial buildings
Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
4th class Power Engineer Certification
BOMA FMA courses in the design, operation, and maintenance of buildings
Experience supervising, scheduling, and training of site staff, including Maintenance workers, Building Operators, Day Porters, and Security
Ability to develop systems, processes, and/or teams that are flexible, adaptable and driven towards a goal of maximum efficiency
Extensive knowledge in Direct Digital controls
Ability to work with a computer, smartphone, or other device
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work well under pressure and minimal supervision
High degree of professionalism and passion for success
Pleasant, cooperative attitude; is a team player
Displays service excellence while dealing with partners
Encourages and supports leadership and growth in others
Effective communication skills (strong command of the English language)
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Able to effectively multitask, recognizing and addressing important, time-sensitive tasks
Flexibility with schedule, as there may be a need to assist after hours/weekends in emergency situations
