Our challenge
We are looking for a skilled Java Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on backend development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building robust web services, managing databases, and developing responsive Angular frontends. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects in a collaborative environment, spanning the full technology stack.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Calgary, Alberta is CAD $100K - CAD $110K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable and secure backend web services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with front-end components.
Build and optimize relational databases and write efficient SQL queries.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers and frontend developers to create seamless user experiences.
Develop and maintain Angular-based front-end applications.
Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Participate in requirements gathering, system design, and architecture discussions.
Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of all applications.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience as a Java Developer with a solid understanding of full-stack development.
Strong expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
Experience with Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries.
Proficiency in relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with ORM tools like Hibernate.
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
Understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred skills:
Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Certifications in Java, Angular, or related technologies.
