Our client, a leading childcare catering company, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations within their production facility. This organization is committed to delivering nutritious, child-friendly meals while driving operational excellence and building a dominant brand in the industry.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for production performance, food safety compliance, team development, and continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
Oversee daily production to meet volume, quality, safety, and service targets
Manage plant capacity, labor planning, and workflow efficiency
Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, GFSI, BRC/SQF, and regulatory standards
Maintain equipment uptime and an audit-ready facility
Safety & Compliance
Champion a strong food safety and "Zero Harm" culture
Lead audit readiness, inspections, and regulatory compliance
Oversee traceability, product integrity, and risk mitigation
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary production teams
Drive accountability, engagement, and performance management
Recruit, train, and build a high-performing workforce
Continuous Improvement
Implement data-driven process improvements
Lead change initiatives and lean/CI projects
Collaborate cross-functionally with FSQA, Nutrition, Logistics, HR, and Purchasing
Qualifications
7–10+ years leadership experience in food manufacturing or high-volume regulated production
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GFSI, BRC, or SQF standards
Proven ability to lead large teams in fast-paced environments
Experience with lean manufacturing / continuous improvement preferred
Culinary, Food Science, or Red Seal certification considered an asset
