Position Overview
Dokainish & Company is seeking an Intermediate Project Scheduler to support schedule development, maintenance, and performance monitoring across capital renewal projects within a national science and research facility renewal program.
This role will work within a collaborative program team to support the delivery of reliable project schedules, progress tracking, and schedule reporting. The successful candidate will have solid scheduling experience using Primavera P6, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a structured program environment.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development and Maintenance
Develop and maintain project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6 in accordance with program scheduling standards
Define and update activity logic, durations, milestones, and resource assignments
Maintain schedule baselines, calendars, and coding structures
Incorporate progress updates, revisions, and change order impacts into project schedules
Progress Tracking and Analysis
Track project progress against approved schedule baselines
Assist with schedule variance analysis and identification of schedule risks and delays
Support look-ahead schedule development and short-interval planning
Review contractor progress submissions and schedule updates
Reporting and Program Support
Prepare schedule reports, progress updates, and schedule summaries
Support the preparation of executive-level schedule dashboards and reporting packages
Maintain schedule documentation, logs, and audit trails
Support senior planners and program leadership as required
Key Deliverables
Project schedules (Primavera P6)
Schedule updates and progress reports
Schedule variance and look-ahead reports
Schedule documentation and audit trail maintenance
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a closely related discipline
Certifications
Progress toward PSP (AACE) certification preferred
PMP certification or equivalent considered an asset
Must hold or be eligible to obtain Federal Government Reliability Status security clearance
Experience
5-10 years of project scheduling experience in the construction or infrastructure sector
Experience supporting capital projects or multi-project environments
Experience with institutional, commercial, or infrastructure projects preferred
Must hold or be eligible to obtain Federal Government Reliability Status security clearance
Technical Competencies
Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 (scheduling, progress tracking, reporting)
Working knowledge of critical path method (CPM) and scheduling best practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
Familiarity with project controls processes and reporting frameworks
Professional Competencies
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a team environment
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
