SJR is an award-winning content and communications consultancy, working with some of the world's best and biggest brands. We believe in the power of transformative content, brought to life by our team of uncommon talents. We combine journalistic rigor, strategic communications sensibilities and creative intelligence to sharpen the conversation, decode complexity, build trust, and make good ideas explode.

We hire passionate innovators to join us on our mission to create best-in-class brand storytelling.

Who We Are Looking For

SJR is seeking a Social-First Account Manager to join our growing Toronto-based team. In this critical role, you will be inherently client-obsessed, possessing a genuine drive to understand, anticipate, and proactively meet client needs, always striving for their success through innovative social content strategies and impactful influencer campaigns. This individual must also be profoundly social-obsessed, demonstrating an innate curiosity and passion for the ever-evolving social media landscape – its platforms, trends, community dynamics, and the world of creators and influencers.

You'll champion an outstanding client experience by delivering social-first programs and influencer initiatives that consistently meet and exceed client expectations - on time and within budget. This role demands a proactive, strategically-minded individual who lives and breathes social media, ensuring an organized workflow from original social concepts or influencer briefs through to rapid production, approval, launch, and measurement. The ideal candidate thrives on delivering creative, agile solutions and is committed to going above and beyond to uphold the highest standards that define working at SJR.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day client communication and social account administration, managing and communicating project timelines, deliverables, and budgets for social-first programs
  • Act as a social media subject matter expert, demonstrating strategic thinking by keeping abreast of client's business, industry, audience, competitive environment, and the latest social platform trends, community dynamics, and the evolving influencer ecosystem to build impactful social strategies.
  • Help guide and coach junior staff on best practices for social content, community management, and effective influencer engagement.
  • Participate in social strategy development and presentations, bringing a deep understanding of platform nuances, content best practices, and successful influencer activations.
  • Translate client-approved social content ideas, strategies, and influencer campaign objectives into clear, concise briefs for editorial and creative teams, always keeping the business objective and rapid social deployment top of mind.
  • Drive the execution of social-first content campaigns and influencer collaborations, ensuring rapid deployment, optimization, and meticulous attention to detail across all client communications and deliverables.
  • Proactively monitor social and influencer campaign performance, analyze data, and provide insights for continuous improvement and client reporting.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills when dealing with client requests and issues, especially in fast-paced social environments or during influencer activations; escalate as necessary and create transparency around status of deliverables.
  • Support in developing refined presentations and delivering them to clients, whether covering social concepts, strategies, budget, influencer programs, or performance insights — in person or in a document.
  • Support client lead with invoicing, drafting service agreements, scopes of work, and setting up vendors, with an eye towards efficient social campaign and influencer program execution.
  • Assist in identifying potential organic growth opportunities, particularly in social content and influencer marketing, consistent with the strategic direction of the agency.

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years of account management experience, with a significant focus on social media strategy and content execution; agency setting highly preferred. Creator and influencer experience preferred.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing impactful social media strategies, end-to-end influencer programs (identification, outreach, negotiation, management, reporting), and rapid content creation across diverse platforms and channels.
  • Deep understanding of the social media landscape, including current trends, emerging platforms, community dynamics, the creator economy, and performance metrics.
  • Incredibly organized with an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring flawless execution across all client communications, social deliverables, and influencer activations.
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively juggle multiple clients, social campaigns, influencer programs, and internal resources, consistently delivering projects on time and within scope in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meticulous, organized, technical, and creative — comfortable managing multiple streams of work, fast-paced social content workflows, influencer relations, and client feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen effectively, document proceedings accurately, and drive proactive, client-focused conversations with both clients and external partners/influencers.
  • Able to deliver written materials and social content or influencer briefs that are error-free, grammatically correct, and on time.
  • A curious mind, inherently "social-obsessed" and always looking to grow and expand knowledge of the digital and social ecosystem, including the latest in influencer marketing.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams (creative, editorial, media) to bring social strategies and influencer programs to life.
  • Experience using collaborative team communication and project management applications (e.g., and Teams).
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications
