Job Summary

Customs and Border Protection Officers are responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws at U.S. ports of entry.

• Federal Law Enforcement Officer Duties: Enforce federal laws including those related to importing/exporting goods, traveling in the U.S., and international shipping;


• Inspect individuals, vehicles, cargo, baggage; utilize intelligence techniques & behavior analysis to identify potential threats;


• Conduct interviews for information gathering from suspected law violators;  Determine admissibility of persons seeking entry into the U.S.;  Prevent illegal entries by people & prohibited goods/smuggling contraband. 

1. Please be a US citizen with primary residency within three (3) years preceding application submission date along with maintaining it as requirement post appointment.  You'll also need a bachelor's degree or higher or have relevant experience under specified guidelines shown above.
   The job requires specialized training which can include foreign language skills especially Spanish if you're assigned duties on southern border locations like Miami/Puerto Rico— Also please note that ability test evaluation will assess whether applicants meet necessary standards set forth by our agency concerning physical fitness examination requirements based upon these qualities:
