Salary: £41,452.26 - £64,841.08(Inclusive of 35% holiday bonus for 33 days per year - 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays)

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:00-15:30 Friday 7:00-12:30Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Process Engineer to join our Machining (Gears) team within the Manufacturing Engineering function.

You'll play a key role in developing, improving and optimising machining processes in a high-performance automotive environment transitioning into electric vehicle production.

You will:

  • Own and continuously improve critical manufacturing processes
  • Lead capital and efficiency improvement projects
  • Deliver solutions safely, on time and within cost
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, management and external partners
  • Drive innovation across conventional and advanced gear machining processes
What You'll Bring

We're looking for candidates who have experience in conventional machining processes such as:

  • Turning
  • Grinding
  • Gear hobbing
  • Honing
  • Helical grinding
  • Laser welding
Essential:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Proven experience in manufacturing/process engineering
  • Project and change management experience
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma)
  • Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of SPC
  • Data analysis / data science capability
  • Ergonomics & manual handling awareness

  • Act as a role model for Ford+ behaviours

  • Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards (IATF/ISO)
  • Drive reliability & maintainability from concept to installation
  • Manage contractors safely and effectively
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams and Trade Union representatives
  • Support continuous improvement across the business
