We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who can help create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning experience for every child.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an essential role in helping the class teacher deliver purposeful learning experiences, setting up classroom activities, and providing targeted support to pupils who require additional assistance. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education, child development, and making a meaningful contribution within a supportive school community.
Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and well structured lessons.
- Support the preparation of classroom materials, resources, and learning activities.
- Provide one to one support to pupils with additional needs or learning difficulties.
- Supervise children during lessons, transitions, playtimes, and group activities.
- Support pupil assessments and maintain accurate records when required.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child can thrive.
Requirements
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (essential).
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
- Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (essential).
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (desirable).
- Understanding of child development and classroom learning processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- First Aid training (preferred).
- Additional childcare or education training (preferred).
Working Conditions
- Full time or part time hours available.
- Classroom based role working closely with children aged four to eleven.
- May involve practical tasks such as setting up equipment or supporting active play.
